Aging tests stability of mind
its ability to witness decline over time,

fine wrinkles, not so fine
laugh lines, not so funny
gray hair perhaps wise-looking,
not always good looking,
I spot the spots on hand and arm
sending inner twenty-something into alarm.
It just can't be so
that bunion by toe, oh no!
Oh dear!
There's a crease on one ear!
Age related whisker on chin?
I'm the wickedest witch who has ever been!
What happened to the days?
My brain's in a haze!

Aging tests stability of mind,
I find,
that's probably why God created wine,
too bad I don't like the stuff,
but need the stuff more
than the stuff called aging.
