"'I'll post the ideas here.  That's what this forum is for, anyway."

You've got that right, Yvonne.  And I'm convinced that more of our PT friends will be joining the few of us very shortly.

So, ya' see --- we DID get the SNOW here in NJ --- how about writing a poem about a 70 degree spring, sunny day?  --smile--

I actually have been working on one for a couple of weeks, after we had a few days of summer-like weather.  I just can't make much of it, though.  Maybe I'll post the ideas here.  That's what this forum is for, anyway  Smiley

Well, this is a different turn of events. I expected something else on the line of birds.  Smiley

This is a ... reminder of a painful event?, an attempt to alleviate your pain from a previous trauma?, or double trauma? Or, is this simply a vision of a past or present anguish seen through tiny lenses?

This is further reminder to me that writing can be its own catharsis. Some say that words are a window to the soul --- in which case, I hope for you that things are well.

Thanks for sharing this. I truly enjoy it.

Sorry it took so long to get back in here to respond Undecided

After writing this, I did experience immediate relief from the sadness, at least for a time!  You are right about writing being it's own catharsis.  Miscarriages are so devastating--this was the third of three in about 3 years, the only one I could write about.  I've been in block mode for so long that I was just happy to write something!  Thanks for your care in responding!

Yvonne,

Sheesh -- you had to write a SNOW poem so early  --smile--

With a lot of "pleasant" imagery, you've sprinkled in just enough "darkness" to make this a sad event.

Enjoyed.

Norm

Sorry to make you think of snow so early, though now it's December so it's probably on its way!  I wrote this about a miscarriage just before Thanksgiving last year.  We had a slight dusting one day, and I saw a snowflake melt on my windshield when I was having a particularly rough day.  It just made me want to work it as a metaphor.  Not sure it works, though.  Thank you for your comments!

Baby October

Since the tears are flowing
I will write about a snowflake
that forms like in the womb of the sky,
so perfect and different from any other of its kind.
So delicate and joyful is its life,
sparkling and pure,
as if its sole purpose is to bring delight
to the cold night swaddled in black silence.
So sweetly it comes and softly,
but why?
Only to share a small moment
with me, on the pane it melts
into blood.
