I have no idea why I would've dreamed this one!  It made me feel like I had a past life complete with all the fixings of pagan entertainment/human/animal sacrifice!

Disturbing dreams often turn into interesting poems? If we have to have these unsolicited dreams imposed upon us, we should at least write about them, eh?

Keep writing! But I hope the dreams get more pleasant  --smile--

*This was just another dream I had that scared me.

The air was crimson-lit and thick
with smoke I couldn't smell
but hung 'round like burial roses
in anticipation of a corpse.
Blood took leave of face
ran straight to my heart
swelled heap pounding alarm.

Dust of antiquity settled on the stone steps,
winding as if to another time.
I knew it was coming,
descending,
a lion
the beast attended by a name,
an incantation, "Mahima Le Le".

Voices increased decibels,

"Mahima Le Le,

MAHIMA LE LE,

MAHIMA LE LE,

and a moment that would not be delayed,

soft paws
claws
teeth bared

and then

pain.
