Guys,

All those five line forms are fun for me (Tanka, Limerick, etc). Writing in form poetry keeps my brain from suffering atrophy.

A good example to a form I am not familiar with.  Shows well.

Norm,

Thanks for the introduction. Reading about the conversion from Italian form to Spanish is fascinating, as is the notion of the second to the last syllable of the line taking the stress.
When I read your piece, that rule for those languages now transfers over and I believe I hear it in your English. Might be my imagination.

Cheers to Garcilaso de la Vega. And cheers to Norm del Poemtrain.

Saludos!

Creative in Forms

Do not suffer from fatigue
when trying to write even if uninspired
I have always been intrigued
by poetic form admired.
Be creative even if rules are required.

Note: a Lira is a five-line Spanish poetic form with syllable counts: 7, 11, 7, 7, 11 and a rhyme scheme of ababb
