Ahhh,  I see it now.  It is a sonnet.  Sorry for being so blind.

emgee,

Strictly speaking, it is not a sonnet, though the middle fourteen lines, taken as a separate piece, are.

Thanks for the visit.

It is great to be inspired.  This is amusing, although I wouldn't call it a sonnet.  It has nice ballad-like meterics and rhymes.  I enjoyed it very much.

Thank you, Terence.

It's not really mythic because it doesn't deal with a mythic subject...but who's counting?

Very creative, writer. I had a cashew smile on my face all through reading and after.

Sorry I didn't find it until now.

Good form in the middle there, Terence

NUTS TO YOU

Another writer has pursued
the benefits of nuts
and how the fact that what he chewed
did not go to his butt.
He put his thoughts in sonnet form
for all of us to see
and structured it in ABnorm
and did it skillfully.

So now I am induced to try the style
and write something about the goober pea
and other nuts that we can all agree
are good for us, and oh so versatile.

The cashew, with a shape that makes me smile,
is wonderful, I chomp them down with glee.
Brazil nuts, hard to open certainly,
are so good that the effort is worthwhile.

Pistachios are heated to beguile.
your senses and will do so pleasantly.
Almonds, slivered, sprinkled on some peas
will beat the taste of plain peas by a mile.

By using rhymes, with every verse a tile,
I've built a sonnet with a rhythmic stile.

I’m done with sonneteering nuts.
there’s not much left to do.
I’ll leave off comments on your butt
and just say “Nuts to you!”
