These are stunningly beautiful stanzas of rhyming couplets in perfect iambic tetrameter.  It appears that the subject is well on in age and looking back over a productive life and special relationships, and looking forward to a painless existence in the beyond rejoining those friends.

deLighting to read and looking forward to more, Daniel  Cool

This was an easy read with a message. I liked the rhyming couplets and the repetitions  in several places for emphasis.  Well done.

Welcone back to Cafe Poetica at Poemtrain.

A prayer.

To let me rove just once again
To feel the silver sighing rain,
And let me wander one more time
To watch the heavens as they climb,
Is all that I can ask of you
For there is so much more to do,
So many things of treasured worth
Before I leave this precious earth.

To let my spirit wander free
Across the land, across the sea,
To let reflected beauty glow
Within my soul’s eternal flow,
Is all that I can want from you
For you and I were always true,
So many prayers lost in the rain
Until they wander back again.

To let the love I have inside
Keep blossoming, and never hide,
So many wondrous souls I’ve known
So often as I’ve been alone,
I felt their touch becalming me
And closed my eyes so I could see
Each face that waits along the way
Each smile that shines, each Prayer they say.

To wait until the sun goes down
Until the sunlit days all drown
In liquid golden evensong
Upon that hill where I belong,
Where faces wait in patient lines
For every feeling life defines,
Until they all meet up again
Beyond the realms of grief and pain…
