This one hits home! You describe and define the "mental agony" well.

I don't think I have much to offer by way of suggested crit on kit -- it works as is IMO.

X-rays may not tell a lie
yet do not always reveal the full truth.
It would seem that delinquent shadow of yours has a hidden agenda.

Shadows

My shadow is detached.
In rain or shine,
it walks two feet behind me
ever since I was told,
“X-rays do not lie.”

Now, my life is full of shadows.
My only fear
is that my shadow
no longer walks behind me.
