Bumping this up -- a lot of the posts on THIS board were posted long ago and a lot of the Internet links are "broken" by now so you can't view the pics.  I'll try to bump up those that still work.

Hi MD,

I did see the above comments, alas I try not to) but I also agree with them all.

I would add that the secret (or at least he challenge) of portrait photography is to say something more than simply taking an image of someone's face. You have achieved a superb portrait. And one which certainly makes us think.

I think I would suggest next time you omit the question "Angel or Devil?" - or whatever occurs to you at the time - because it guides the viewer. Allow viewers to arrive at their own interpretations, then you will learn their true views.

Your use of monochrome is brilliantly chosen. It further emphasizes the dichotomy in this image. Not only would colour have diminished the visual impact of the two-tone but it would also have damaged the concept b softening and blending.

I am useless at portraits - I really wish I could shoot them like this.

Well done.

Light or shadow. . .considering I see both light and shadow upon this face. . .I'd say. . .like all people. . .she holds both light and shadow. . .

and interestingly. . .the face is virtually half of each -- light and shadow. . .

As for the pic itself. . .I like the lack of color. . .it's necessary of course for the depiction. . .

Nice.

I'd say neither angel nor, just someone who looks interesting, playful but serious and a lot going on behind the smile.
