My apologies for leaving out that site!

Embarrassed

No 'pologies needed, Karen...but it ain't a site, it's just my page at that same cowboypoetry.com as the rest o' them fellers.

The folks at the Bar-D do tend to look out for cowboy poets, don't they?

Hmmm! I have so many...

I guess my all time favorite would have to be Henry Herbert Knibbs.  Knibbs was never actually a cowboy but wrote some great poetry.  You can read his most performed poem "Where the Ponies Come to Drink" here

I also love Bruce Kiskaddon.  His poem "The Broncho Twister's Prayer" is often performed by Waddie Mitchell and Don Edwards. It is beautiful.  Here is the poem.

S. Omar Barker is also a classic and is often referred to as the ol' SOB.  His poem "Pert Near" is quite good.

I also love listening to Waddie Mitchell.  He is a really nice guy.  He wrote the poem that introduced the olympics in Salt Lake City.

One of the best also is Larry McWhorter.  I consider him the quintessential Cowboy Poet and his poem "The Red Cow" has just about every nuance and theme that is typical of a great cowboy poem.  To me it is the epic cowboy poem. Here it is.

I also like J.B. Allen, J.W. Beeson, Andy Wilkinson, etc.  Hope y'all enjoy these.

You can find a plethora of others as www.cowboypoetry.com/indx.htm
