I'm glad Cyn explained what you were describing in the poem or I would never have got it.  In UK, we don't really follow baseball.

The poem reads well though and I've no suggestions (anything would upset your meter).

October Sanctuaries

October sanctuaries overflow
with worshipers—the young, the old, the wise.
Fanatics who, with single voice, will show
support, their adoration undisguised,
for mortal demigods in robes of lore,
then mold them into legends forged in fire.

Four altars form a diamond at the core
of this most sacred liturgy; desire
to “touch ‘em all” inflames these Titan souls.

As protocol demands, an anthem’s sung
to spur the battle weary t’ward the goal;
complete the quest so valiantly begun
to champion the final enemy
and toll the bell to score their victory!
