	The first of many let us assume. Congrats Norm. Your observation that if you throw enough at the wall something will stick is true for just about anything. Songwriting, painting, dating! lol I read through the website you posted, including the articles on what makes a good poet a good poet. Intelligence and a desire to open your brain case and let everyone look in. I'd add, 'a great desire to not conform to any darn thing.' Again congrats Norm. James

	Tim, Actually, I think a better comparative cliche would be, "throw enough you-know-what at the wall, and maybe some of it will stick." LOL. I am using a modification of the methods used over 30 years ago except NOW we have computers. Maybe I will post an outline of what I do and others can chime in and possiblt help others get started with the tedious taks of trying to see their works published --- by editors and periodicals that do the screening and approving (NOT self-publishing). EBVERYONE can self-publish --- tthat's how poetry.com cons people out of their money every day of the year. Norm,

	Friends --- Sonnet Published --- After a 34 year hiatus, I have begun pursuing that tedious process to submit my poetry for publication. Most of you know that I am not a fan of "self-publishing" (and I know some of you are fans of that option). Vanity verification just ain't my thing. So I set up a whole submission system (database and all with about 400 of my poems --- the other 700 can remain where they are LOL) and sent out to 64 publications ... snail mail (I also shy away now from online submissions). So, to date, here are the results ... 36 responses --- 9 acceptances --- one with a $25.00 compensation (as opposed to "free copies" and/or "thanks"). Well, the one that awarded the $25.00 was (big smile here) my sonnet, "Lines" (how about that, Eric?). Hey, it is NOT the New Yorker, but what the heck! So it seems my own favorite turned out to be worthy in some publisher's eyes LOL. It will appear in print and can be viewed online at the following link (but you guys have already read it here in Sonnet Central, right?). The publisher is the Dana Literary Society.
