Peach,

Gender identification is a worthy subject...seems to me if we don't personally have to deal with it, it involves little to no thought...on the other hand, there are many that feel they have to deal with it through secrecy, and on their own, a very lonely place to be.  If it weren't for societal pressure...they could be just people.  Hats off to those that, come to the forefront and fight for whats right.

Ambiguity
a double-edged sword, 
identity pressed snug
between the surfaces of a mirror. 
Distortion possible from either side. 

Bits of self, held remote,
under-wraps,  
abstract--
one part of a face, 
spread flat, eye wide and staring,
the other in profile, set 
in a permanent wink,
as if possessing 
a great secret.

Like a stain, the necessity 
in its hiding, 
leaving everything exposed.
The single greedy purpose,
annihilation,
freedom bought 
with time served.
