This is as near perfection as the scene you create within these few lines...
My ONLY suggest would be to switch yard to garden for a softer, more poetic sound, that would do well here~p

Hello Daniel,

I have been MIA for a while now and this was a lovely break back into life.

I love the way you call to taking a break from your life to meditate on what happens naturally in the world around you. See nature's renewal of life.

Lovely ...

dani

Thank you so much, Dani...

and I see this is one of those pieces that may have contributed to the idea that I was ignoring you!  Sorry for not being around myself for some time.  I'm afraid there are a lot of ignored pieces and comments here that I may never see... for which I'm very sorry.

Daniel,

I've read this a couple of times and thought I'd made comment. That's what I get for thinking. My Dad always said thinking  should be left to folks who know what they are doing.

This is a nice piece, soft and comforting. Becky and I took a walk through the local Nature Center on Sunday last. Not a lot of wildlife out yet, but we saw signs of deer. Also saw several geese trying to navigate over a frozen pond. They could have used chains or boots with gripper soles.

Wayne

Wandering through here I found some unanswered comments, yours among them, Wayne.  I like the thought of the implements for the geese on the pond... and can imagine your writing a poem about that!

It is a beautiful little piece. Few words, but big sentiments. I guess I just wanted more... Smiley
Greetings, Theater Girl, and welcome to Poem Train.

I'm tremendously honored that your only post so far has been to my humble little poem...

and what an even greater honor that you should be left wanting more.  I'm extremely pleased that you like it.

I don't have a whole lot more to say in this poem, but I'm sure that you can find a few more lying around here without looking too far...

and the other posters here will be looking forward both to hearing from you in their posts  AND to your own posting soon.

It's good to get out and about in Spring after being stuck indoors all winter and see nature waking up.

Yes, nature is waking up in my yard, so pretty soon we have to be about the business of planting our veggie garden (which I think one of my tenants wants to do this year.  He's already rototilled if for the first time, so I'm gonna have to do it once more before my son borrows the tiller to do his first-ever veggie garden with/for his wife.  They're excited to have their own yard now...

and I'll have to be mowing the lawn again soon.  Fortunately, I get to sit down to do most of it these days!

Daniel,
When I read your comment on my poem (Spring), I just had to read yours.  You're definitely right, while we share the same topic, that's about where the similararties (sp.?) end...
~Davidf

Your spelling is quite right, David -- except for the extra 'ar' -- which I almost missed.  My dyslexic eyes do that a lot, in fact!

So I guess you might say that we have similar rarities ?

Daniel,

It's true Daniel there's so much more to life, than security and creature comforts...i love taking time to rejuvinate through
observation, and the renewall of natural occurences, the seasons,
and seemingly new creations.

thanks for the post, very much enjoyed.

Real Comfort

Come, leave the security of your home
letting your coffee remain un-drunk
and your lover’s cigarette un-smoked.

Find the secret of the sparrows
watching the renewal of forsythia
in the back corner of your yard.

© MLee Dickens'son 15 March 2009

riposte using ten words of Katha Pollitt's Small Comfort:
coffee, forsythia, renewal, cigarettes, drunk, sparrows, secret, corner, home, lover
