I really like the structure of this one; the color and the tree-silhouettes, and, if I didn't know better I would say it looks like it was painted.

I didn't automatically think of War of the Worlds when I saw this, just that it looked like a very well-painted contrast between two different kinds of night-lights. Only after reading everyone else's response did I see the connection. I think the biggest reason for that is because I've seen a lot of WOTW artwork from the 70's version and in the art the composers went in a different route. And I do remember seeing snitches of the original theatre production and the street-lamp image used to represent the alien ships. That was kind of a neat trick. And so was this picture. Congrats Diane on the photo-work. It's really nice.

To me it seems some type of mechanical eye patch, but is definitely an eye, alien or futurisitic sci-fi contraption.

I love the purple and black.  The traffi light does look a bit like a spaceship or eye, can't quite decide which.

This is definitely War Of The Wolds... a traffic light becomes a Martian's eye, spyed through a purple haze of their attack.
