Hi Hawkwind,
I also enjoy people watching -- we are interesting critters
! My husband and I always enjoy contemplating how big the pile would be if all the customs were converted to cash at these events.

Tim,
I have been going to this specific bike fest for years now and it just amazes me how artistic these custom bikes can be. They are even more impressive in person and because of the crowd it is so hard to photograph the bikes. It is an impressive bike and your secret is safe with me
. Believe it or not, this is from Leesburg's (Florida) 12th annual bikefest, (last weekend) which is much like the annual Daytona Bike Week...but on a somewhat smaller scale.
I didn't realize Leesburg had a bikefest, I always loved going to Daytona, before my husband had to stop driving he had a bike and it was a lot of fun doing Daytona on bike, we kept going but not so much fun when you pull in with the volvo *smile*. Loved Boot Hill, could sit there for hours people watching!

Deadwood or Sturgis. . .Deadwood absolutely for the ambiance, though it's lost some of it to the casinos in recent years. . .but Sturgis all the way for the bikes. I actually was wondering if this was Daytona bike week. . .didn't know about Leesburg. Great Bikes -- time and money amazing. . .I'm sure. . .but worth it to those who build them for sure.
I love the blues of the ocean in the Bahamas. . .and with the roll of dark clouds overhead. . .makes it a perfect picture for me.
Thanks for sharing Diane.

Hi Diane,
How odd - the images are back here, too. Sorry must have been my glitch.
If you go into production with those holiday specs, you'll make a fortune!

Prosaic,
Well, I am romanticizing it through "vacation colored" glasses I am sure. They do have a good bit of poverty among the locals and crime is a problem there too. However, there does seem to be a family atmosphere created on the island - away from the tourist trap areas.
"Here drivers tend to run people over first then make a lot of noise about it later." Good to know, I will keep that in mind if I ever make a visit!
My computer still shows all the images...?

Hi Diane,
Sounds idyllic.
British drivers use the car horn less than American ons I think (from tv dramas). Here drivers tend to run people over first then make a lot of noise about it later.
Have some images disappeared? The green motorbike and a few sea views?

Prosaic,
Thank you, persistence does pay off in the end!
This culture is very popular in America, and I can only imagine how much time and money goes into one of these.
Yes, the blues are amazing, it was like stepping into a painting. We were able to see both the developed tourist area and the outer areas of the island. I much preferred the common area where the locals were as it contained the historic buildings, character, culture and friendliness of the natives of the island. One example, everyone honks their horn as a "hello" or "you may go" gesture - here horns are more often used to signal impatience and such.

Hi Diane,
Very well done with your persistence!
I have no idea if this artistic-bike culture exists in he UK - seems very Americana but it may. (As I cannot even ride a bicycle I'm rather distant from motorbikes) The people concerned must have spent ages and much money working on these machines.
Those blues of sky and sun seem impossible. The only way we could turn our grey seas to that would be to dump tons of dye around our shores. I bet it is not that pleasant there; cold really.. just glad there was nowt to be envious of... I love grey shades .... Baahhh! humbug! Wonder when the next flight is?

I was just trying to learn to post photos, I think I may have a few creative shots to offer but will have to dig them up and upload so it may be a while.

Nas,
I really dont have many of my photos hosted online so I was just grabbing from the few I had, to test the process, but I am glad that you enjoyed the picture. This was one from many bikes that I saw last weekend and had uploaded to share with a friend who could not attend.
Thanks for the help with my post. I will keep trying until I get it right.

Prosaic,
I will give it another try. I think I have received some helpful comments that have made the procedure a bit more understood. And, of course, edit is where I would find the codes - thanks for pointing that out!
I will have to, when time permits, sift through some of my photos and upload and post those that might be of interest here.
Thanks for the help,
Diane

Diane,
I've never seen a green finish like that before. That's smoking hot. I think I have biker envy...wait, I'm not a biker...well, deep down inside I am...don't tell anyone. shhhhhhh.
Love the pic. Deadwood? Or Sturges?
Namaste,
~Tim
