Rannaicheacht Ghairid (ron-a'yach cha'r-rid):


Rannaicheacht Ghairid is another one of those Irish/Welsh poetic forms that are such fun to write.

Each stanza is a quatrain in which the first line has 3 syllables and the other three have 7. 

The stanza rhymes a a b a, with a cross-rhyme between three and four.  Thus, the scheme:

x x x x x x a
x x x x x x b
x x b x x x A

Rannaicheacht Ghairid - Waxing Poetic

Poetic,
That's how I am aesthetic.
I frequently ask you why
Most times I am pathetic

At sharing
All the love I'm bearing
For you, oh the longest time.
Through poems, I'm words, I'm caring.

And so, too,
With these verses I renew
Thoughts in words, getting nearer?
Hope it's clearer...I love you!
