Here ya go, Jess.

I dragged this acrostic-type ABCDerian piece from my poetry notes...

ABCedarian
author unknown

Appreciation for our script
Begins anew each time I write
Celestial musings of the Gods
Demarcate evolutions from
English back to Sumerian.
From clay tokens to computers
Gyrating round logographics
High concept of sound equal graph.
Invented by who knows what tribe
Justly intent in absence to
Kindle the presence of their thought,
Lace horizons with their visions.
Mantras welled up from Sanskrit's sound.
Notations carved deep into stone
Open the sanctuary of
Past worlds and civilizations,
Quelling curiosity's quick
Rush on speculation's great need,
Sacred, secular and divine,
To explain sky, sun, star and earth.
Urumqui, furtherest from all
Views of every ocean, yet writes
With scripts quite as elegantly
Xeroxable as any of
Younger lineage since zero and
Zen reduced time to trivia.

More Abcedarius:

A second form of ABCDerian poetry is one in which the object is to write a piece using words that begin with all 26 letters of the alphabet.  It doesn’t matter where one starts in the alphabet as long as all the alphabet is used and each word follows on from the last in that alphabetical sequence..   At this point, I can find no true references to the form but have seen it on several poetry boards, usually as a fun challenge.  Extra merit is sometimes credited if one can go through the alphabet and back again and even extra credit is sometimes awarded if one can avoid the use of filler words such as ‘the’ or ‘and’ or ‘but’.

Here is my first and only effort so far - grab a dictionary - *grin*:

Alien bacterial culture decimates Earth forcefully.
Galaxial holograms invade Jupiter
killing libinous, munificent, neophytic odalisques.
Plenipotentiary, quotidian recurrences smash
temporary utopia via worm-hole xenogamy.
Yammering zoophytes yield.
Xanthacroid women vilify uninvited trespassers.
Sidereal rubicon quickly passes.
Otorhinolaryngolical, nympomaniac martyrs
launch kinaesthetic juggernauts inflicting
harm gratuitously. Finally, extra-terrestrials depart.
Cosmic beatitude abounds.

Take care.

ABCDerius

One type of ABCDerian poem is an acrostic of 26 lines (or I suppose any multiple of 26, although I can't say I've ever seen one).

The first letter of each line begins with a successive letter of the alphabet.  The simplest form begins at A and progresses to Z, but it could begin with any letter, progressing through the alphabet, returning to the beginning and continuing back to the start point.
